Introduction to AI

Computer science is the study of science and technology there are many fields in computer science on of the subfield is Artificial Intelligence (AI), which works in the commands of developing mechanisms or systems able to deal with tasks that, generally, involve human intelligence. These tasks are learning, problem solving, natural language comprehension, predicting the next level and decision making.
Artificial Intelligence provides data and rules for using that data. It can be used to complete specific tasks such as working as a virtual assistant, recognizing faces, and even helping in decision-making. Artificial Intelligence has the potential to perform many tasks that humans can do, or sometimes even better.

What Makes Artificial Intelligence Important?

Artificial Intelligence is changing the world in many ways, making tasks smarter. There are many advantages to be gained from AI, and nowadays, people are becoming increasingly addicted to AI tools, some of the important are:
  • Makes repetitive work automated
  • Makes things more precise and less prone to human error
  • It facilitates quicker decision-making
  • It drives innovations in healthcare, finance, education, agriculture, and more
Artificial Intelligence: How does it work?
There are many core reasons that the Artificial Intelligence operates based on:
  1.  Collecting Data – Without Data/dataset, Artificial Intelligence systems can not work. To create an AI system, the collected data/dataset provide the AI system.
  2.  Learning Patterns – After being given a dataset the Machine Learning assists Artificial Intelligence in understanding and discovering patterns of data labels.
  3. Decision Making – AI is able to make decisions or predictions based on labeled data and rules provided by people
  4. Improving Over Time – With increased data, Artificial Intelligence becomes better and smarter. In other words, with more data, Artificial Intelligence gets better and smarter.

Main Fields of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is applied in various fields, as humans can see, hear and talk. As an example, AI can read and output language via natural language processing, and read and locate images and objects with computer vision:
  • Machine Learning (ML): A Technique or an algorithm enabling computers to learn with the help of the data and base decisions on it.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP): Assisting computers to comprehend human language and utilise it.
  • Computer Vision (CV): Helping computers see and understand images or videos.
  • Robotics: Smart machines that use AI to complete given tasks and interact with the real world step by step.
  • Expert Systems: Computer programs that make decisions like a human expert would.

Applications of AI in the Real World

  • Face Recognition: Technology used many devices like phones, security systems, and biometric machines to identify faces.
  • Self-Driving Cars: Automobiles that use intelligent system to drive on roads without human drivers.
  • Recommendation Systems: These are AI systems utilised by Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon to recommend movies, videos or products.
  • AI in Healthcare: AI-powered machines that help doctors by analyzing medical images and supporting diagnoses.
  • Virtual Assistants: Applications such as Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant that aids the user with a question or accomplish a task.

Artificial Intelligence in Future:

The future of AI is bright and powerful. AI is going to continue to transform how we work and live, with development of deep learning, natural language processing, and robotics.
